Rich chocolate notes in the aroma – mildly fruity. Creamy nutty flavour with good body and thick crema. Stoned fruit flavours with hints of nuts. A sweet coffee, clean aftertaste and a hint of dark chocolate.
The Coffee is a Washed Arabica typically grown at an altitude of 1200m. It consists of a variety of Caturra, Bourbon, Catuai and Typica and is wet processed (washed).
The coffee is selected from a co-op of several farms located in the region Kirundo – Muyinga known for the high quality of the coffee grown there. The coffee is grown at an average altitude of 1600-1900m at a constant temperature of about 21°C, which is an ideal environment for the production of Arabica coffee. There are about 25 million coffee plants in Burundi – predominantly of the Bourbon variety.
